Aim:
To extend the range of spectroscopic studies of units GAS2381 and GAS2382.

This unit continues the theme of spectroscopy using nuclear magnetic resonance, infra red and mass spectrometry to elucidate molecular structure. The basics of X-ray and vibrational spectra, mass spectrometry and quantitative XRF and EDX analyses are also studied.
Assessment includes tests and assignments (70%) and laboratory work (30%).

Prerequisite(s): GAS2281.
